Staying at: The Sport hotel St.Anton, Arlberg

Saturday 9th - Saturday 16th August 2025

Saturday: Following an early departure we travel to Dover where we board the ferry for the short sea crossing to Calais. On arrival we rejoin our coach and continue our journey through Northern France, passing the city Reims and onto the Metz. Here we spend our first night at the Novotel Metz Amnéville.

Sunday: This morning we travel towards Strasbourg and on through the Alsace region towards the Swiss border city of Basel. After crossing the border we continue through Switzerland passing Zurich and St Gallen and on towards the Austrian border. From here we are in the Alberg region and we continue towards St. Anton where we spend five nights at the Sporthotel.

Monday: Today we spend at leisure in St. Anton where there is plenty to see and do. We can take advantage of the St. Anton summer card which includes a return journey on the cable car, entrance to St. Anton Museum and the complimentary use of local bus services.

Tuesday: This morning we make our way to Bregenz, framed by impressive mountain chains and nestled beside Lake Constance. Here we have time to enjoy and explore the medieval centre of this delightful city and see the massive baroque onion spire of St. Martins Tower. We have also included a lake cruise around Bregenz Bay.

Later we make the short journey along the shores of the lake to the town of Lindau. Situated on an island and brimming with medieval and half timbered buildings, this charming German town has plenty to admire. We enjoy some time here before we return to St. Anton.

Wednesday: Today we enjoy a spectacular drive over one of the most beautiful alpine passes, the Silvretta Pass. It twists and turns around thirty hairpin bends through a wonderland of scenery, a genuine highlight of our tour. Along the way we are treated to views over the towering 3,312 metre Piz-Buin Peak, the highest mountain in the region.

Thursday: This morning we travel into Switzerland to the city of Chur. Here we have time to stroll the picturesque, traffic free alleyways, see landmarks like the Bishops Court and the Cathedral of St Mary and discover the many shops and cafes. Later we join the Chur-Arosa railway, called the Arosabahn. This lovely mountain railway takes us on a return journey from Chur to Arosa, climbing 1,000 metres through unspoilt countryside and over the famous Langwieser Viaduct. Afterwards we return to St. Anton.

Friday: Today we leave our hotel and commence the homeward journey, travelling through Switzerland into France and passing through the Alsace region and on towards Metz where we spend our last night at the Novotel Metz Amnéville.

Saturday: Our last day today. After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our way towards Calais where we board the ferry for the return channel crossing to Dover. On arrival we rejoin our coach and continue our journey towards home, arriving during the evening.
