Monday: We travel to northwards today and check in at the Spa Town of Harrogate. We will be staying at the Cairn Hotel.
Tuesday: This morning is free to explore Harrogate. Options include a visit to the famous Bettys Tea Rooms with its ornate fascia and delicious cakes and coffee or just browsing this delightful town. This afternoon we visit the RHS Harlow Carr Garden which reflects the Yorkshire landscape in spectacular style with a landscape that is dominated by stone, water and woodland.
Wednesday: Today we travel through some of the wonderful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales. This scenery has inspired many famous artists and authors including the Bronte Sisters. We travel to Haworth with a stop at the charming canal side village of Kildwick en route. We have included a Bronte themed guided tour. This afternoon we make our way to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Saltaire Village, built by Sir Titus Salt in the nineteenth century to house the employees of the Salt’s Textile Mill. Local costumed characters take us on a guided walk bringing the history of this village to life.
Thursday: A superb excursion today to the splendid city of York. As well as allowing plenty of time to enjoy the history and culture of this walled city we have included a 45 minute cruise on the River Ouse.
Friday: We leave Harrogate this morning for our homeward journey. With lunch and comfort stops en route we arrive early evening.
