Llandudno

Staying at The Kensington Hotel, Llandudno
Monday 12th - Monday 19th August 2019

Monday
We join the coach this morning and make our way our way to the beautiful, Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno in North Wales. We make a lunch stop at Llangollen known for its spectacular scenery and great range of eateries. After lunch we take the scenic route over the Horseshoe Pass and on through the Vale of Clwyd to Llandudno.

Tuesday
A day at leisure.

Wednesday
Our excursion today takes us on a trip on the Llanberis Lake Railway. The railway is a narrow-gauge steam train that runs for 2.5 miles. Our 60-minute return journey takes us through the Padarn Country Park and along the shores of Lake Padarn enjoying stunning views of Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales. We then visit the Slate Mine Museum to explore the history of slate. There is also a small steam train and various demonstrations. Our last visit is to the lovely town of Caernarvon where we have some sightseeing time before returning to Llandudno.

Thursday
We cross the Menai Strait this morning to visit the small town of Llanfairpwllgwyngillgogogoch, famous for having the longest town name in the UK. From here we journey on to visit Beaumaris. The town is famous for its castle, Georgian architecture, sea front and pier. Beaumaris has a host of cafes and restaurants and many art and craft shops making it a perfect day out destination.

Friday
Today we have another scenic trip this time to the Snowdon Mountain Railway for a two and a half hour round trip to the summit of Snowdon (weather permitting). An exciting journey through amazing scenery, a trip not to be missed.

Saturday
We plan a visit to Bodnant, one of the most beautiful gardens in the UK. And then on to Betws-y-Coed where we find shops selling crafts, clothing, gifts and local produce. Perhaps find the perfect gift to take home.

Sunday
A day at leisure.

Monday
We leave Llandudno this morning for our homeward journey making a lunch stop en-route. We arrive home during the afternoon.
