Cornwall The Best of the West

Staying at: Queens Hotel, Penzance

Thursday 20th - Monday 24th August 2020

Thursday

Our coach takes us through the West Country and to Penzance for our 4 night stay at the Queens Hotel.

Friday

We have the morning at leisure in the pretty fishing harbour of St Ives. Fabulous beaches, The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture garden provides something for every taste. During the afternoon we spend our time in Penzance. Attractions here include the Morrab Gardens The Egyptian House and St Michael’s Mount which can be reached on foot at low tide.

Saturday

The highlight of the tour. We take the ferry from Penzance harbour to the unspoilt Isles of Scilly. We can relax and enjoy the views before visiting Hugh Town, the capital of St Mary’, which despite being the largest island covers only an area of less than 2.5 square miles. There are a number of places to eat, shops, galleries and a museum. We return to Penzance on the late afternoon ferry.

Sunday

Our excursion today takes us to Falmouth whose attractions include the National Maritime Museum. Later we travel the short distance to Trebah Gardens, a beautiful garden set in 26 acres of sub tropical planting. A perfect way to spend the afternoon before returning to Penzance.

Monday

We leave Penzance and make our homeward journey with a lunch stop en route, arriving home late afternoon.
