Ireland - Coast to Coast

Staying at: The Inn at Dromoland, Lagoon (3 Nights) and Talbot Hotel, Wexford (2 Nights)

Monday 8th - Saturday 13th June 2020

We begin our twin centre Coast to Coast programme with the journey to Pembroke to board the ferry for Rosslare. Once in Rosslare we travel to Newmarket on Fergus and the Inn at Dromoland.

Today we travel along the Wild Atlantic Way to Doolin Pier where we board the Doolin ferry for a 30 minute cruise to the Aran Island of Inis Oirr. On arrival we have a pony and trap tour of the island before having free time for lunch at the pier and reboarding the ferry for a stunning cruise to the base of the Cliffs of Moher. This cruise is over 6km of coastline and takes in the dramatic views of the 214 metre cliffs. See many sea birds and puffins and enjoy the commentary.

This morning we drive to the medieval city of Galway where we have a 2 hour guided walking tour. In the afternoon we board the Corrib Princess for a 90 minute cruise along the River Corrib and onto Lough Corrib, Ireland’s largest lake. We pass historic landmarks whilst listening to the fascinating commentary. We also have Irish dancing and Irish coffee making demonstrations included on this cruise.

Our destination today is the historic, medieval city of Kilkenny. We have time here to explore the many historic buildings and landmarks along the Medieval Mile. We complete our day with a visit to the Smithwick’s Experience, home to the number one Irish Ale. We have a guided tour and an ale in the bar before making our way to the Talbot Hotel in Wexford.

Our destination today is Ireland’s oldest city, Waterford. We visit Waterford Treasures, which tells the story of this interesting city. We then have some free time to explore the quay or take refreshment in one of the local pubs or cafes before visiting the new House of Waterford Crystal. We can explore the departments of the factory seeing the production process of beautiful crystal. After this visit the rest of the day is at leisure.

We leave Wexford this morning and make our way homeward via ferry and road arriving in the evening.
