Romantic Railways of North Wales

Monday

Following a morning departure we travel towards North Wales. Making the usual refreshment stops en-route we arrive in Llanberis during the afternoon. Here we spend four nights at the Royal Victoria Hotel.

Tuesday

This morning we travel to the popular Victorian coastal resort of Llandudno, the most popular resort of North Wales. Here we have included a return journey on the Great Orme Tramway. From the top there are fine views of the town and coastline.#

Wednesday

Today we have two train rides from Llanberis. Firstly we have a return journey on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. The views from the summit are spectacular (weather depending). During the afternoon we have a return journey on the narrow gauge Llanberis Lake Railway.#

Thursday

This morning we travel the short distance to the town of Caernarfon. Situated at the western end of the Menai Strait and dominated by it’s magnificent castle. Later we continue to Porthmadoc. Here we board the Ffestiniog Steam Railway for the single journey to Blanau Ffestiniog, said to be the most scenic railway journey in North Wales.

Friday

Today we board our coach and commence the homeward journey. Making the usual refreshment stops we arrive during the afternoon.
